Replicated CDs, the type that are mass-manufactured by the thousands, play on almost any CD player. Duplicated disc (like these) will not play on certain old CD players.

Experts quote that the percentage of CD players out there today that can't play a duplicated disc is about 5% (on a world-wide basis) and that number drops every year, because people replace their older players with ones that will play everything (including MP3s). These discs will play on every computer (with a disc drive), they are universal in that unlike DVDs, they play in any country and are region free, and will most likely play on any CD player manufactured in the last seven to eight years.
