The 78's

The 78's
Podrooshki

The Podrooshki collection was also one of the smaller collection of recordings on 78s, but nearly every Doukhobor family owned part or all of this collection.

With only 4 records (8 sides in total), the label boasted the names of Laura Markin, Pauline Plotnikoff, Mary Drazdoff, Paul Drazdoff, Elizabeth Strelive, John Strelive, Marcie Tomilin and daughters, Anne and Paulette.

Though severely scratched and worn, we received many copies of this small collection over several months. Some skipped; some sides were too worn to be usable. With thanks to recording artist Billy Chernoff and the use of his passed father's 'treasured' collection, it permitted us to complete this archive to the best of our ability by editing half a side with another half side here and there, and the Podrooshki archive is now complete.

A lone 78 recording that was popular in its day, Rastoyotsa Liot Svadoyou (and flip side) found its way into this tab. Not much is known about the label or artist Bill Chernenkoff but the record was certainly worth archiving. (The label included only a musical note symbol).
